RETIREMENT RICHES VS. REAL RICHES | Why The Rich Refire And Don’t Retire Most people spend their lives working toward retirement. But the wealthy are building lives they never want to retire from. In this eye-opening message, Myron Golden explains the difference between retirement riches and real riches—and why the rich choose to refire instead of retire. This isn’t about quitting work. It’s about doing work that aligns with purpose, creates impact, and continues to produce income. The core idea is simple but powerful: Real wealth isn’t about stopping work—it’s about choosing work that never feels like something you need to escape. You’ll learn: Why traditional retirement thinking can limit your potential The difference between saving for freedom and creating freedom How the wealthy build income that continues long-term Why purpose-driven work replaces the desire to retire The mindset shift from “escape work” to “design life” How to create income streams that support ongoing impact Biblical principles behind stewardship, purpose, and fulfillment This message will challenge the way you think about retirement and show you how to build a life where you don’t count down the years

I just want to say thank you Myron for help us build this mindset. Your stewardship of this knowledge is challenging me to tap into an abundance mindset than a scarcity one. I do not have full clarity yet on what big problem I can solve for others but at least im tuning in. God bless.

Myron, thank you. It’s time to ring this bell louder until people choose to hear. Jesus said let your light shine…with no ‘until 65’ then dim!’ At 85 Caleb was ready to take a mountain…his mountain. Society has conditioned people to stop, physically and mentally. Momentum takes place as we fix our minds on what Father has said…reinforce the mindset of a future that builds. We listen to our bodies, allow the soul to heal and strengthen our spirits. God lives in us in His Fulness and does not evaporate at 65 - or whatever age barrier we have set for ourselves. My life has been shaped by your consistent teaching. To the years ahead which we all Welcome and Bless🎉

God bless you Preacher! That was really good. Retire literally means "go to sleep", and i've seen a lot of people literally do that... They go home and they die. People need to stop aspiring to go home and die, but endeavor to work in a capacity and doesn't feel like work at all.

Incredible shift in perspective, Myron! Your concept of 'refiring' perfectly mirrors what I call 'repurposing' in my book, Beyond Wealth. For the C-suite leaders and doctors I mentor, moving from success to significance is the only way to leave a true legacy.

In short

Myron Golden argues that retirement is a broken model and that the wealthy "refire" instead: they find work aligned with purpose that keeps producing income and legacy. He walks through discerning your designated purpose (macro and micro), seasons of focus versus seasons of balance, learning from mentors like David Mitchell, Ben Ginder, Jerry Clark and Russell Brunson, and then determining your dominant priority by maximizing your life, monetizing your leverage and magnetizing your legacy. He closes on inheritance: if you didn't come from a wealthy family, make sure a wealthy family comes from you.

Chapters

Key points

  1. 01

Retirement means being put out of commission

Myron says retirement literally means being taken out of commission, and that people who retire often expire because they lose their sense of purpose.

  2. 02

Lay up treasure for your children, not yourself

He reads the Bible's warning about laying up treasure as applying to yourself, not to building wealth so no one in your family ever starts from scratch.

  3. 03

Seasons of focus earn seasons of balance

God built seasons into every day, week, month and year: six days of focus, one of balance, and it's your focus seasons that earn your balance seasons.

  4. 04

Every level-up came from a new who

Each time his life leveled up it was because he locked in with a new mentor, and in 2015 Russell Brunson's circle showed him he'd been targeting the wrong audience for decades.

  5. 05

Fear and anxiety are not the same

Fear is caution over a real and present danger; anxiety is caution over a future imagined danger, which is what all worry actually is.

  6. 06

Life only gets worse through neglect

Improvement requires energy and intention, but decline requires neither, so there is no such thing as maintaining.

Lines worth keeping

  • I have no desire to retire. I only aspire to fire higher.

The line the whole message hangs on.

  • In order for life to get better, it requires energy and intention. In order for life to get worse, it only requires neglect.

His clearest statement of why passive maintenance is a myth.

  • I've been targeting the wrong audience most of my career.

The realization that came from stepping into a room of people making far more than he was.

  • A prepared messenger is better than a prepared message.

Kenny Grant's line that freed him from writing sermons and shifted him to living the principles.

  • If you didn't come from a wealthy family, make sure a wealthy family comes from you.

The closing charge on legacy and inheritance.

What to do next

  1. 1

Discern your designated purpose at the intersection of your passions and proficiencies.

God isn't in the habit of frustrating his children, so what you love and what you're good at point to what he created you for.

  2. 2

Build seasons of focus into your day, week, month and year, and let them earn your seasons of balance.

Focus was designed to be a season, not your whole life, and balance you didn't earn isn't deserved.

  3. 3

Lock in with a mentor who is further along, even if they're younger than you or not a believer.

Every time his life leveled up it was because he engaged with a new who who had light he didn't have.

  4. 4

Evaluate every investment by asking whether the upside and the downside are limited or unlimited.

Infinite upside with limited downside is a hard yes; infinite downside with limited upside is always a hard no.

  5. 5

Move up from implementation to communication and imagination to monetize your leverage.

Leverage means a small input produces a multiplied output, and wealth begins to be created above the unification level.

People retire and then they expire

A punchy, quotable line with rhythm and a rhyme that lands as a complete standalone argument against retirement.

Retirement isn't the finish line. I have no desire to retire, I only aspire to fire higher.

In order for your life to get worse, it only requires neglect

A clean, universal principle stated with a memorable contrast that needs zero context.

Getting better takes energy and intention. Getting worse takes nothing at all.

You don't have a fear of failure. There's no such thing.

A contrarian claim plus a crisp definition that reframes something almost everyone says about themselves.

Fear is caution over a real and present danger. Everything else you're calling fear is anxiety.
